Summer Drive

When Dan and I moved downtown, we got rid of one of our cars. We figured there was no point in living and working downtown and still trying to manage two vehicles.

Still, we like to take a drive from time to time. Dan in particular likes to be behind the wheel, and I like to see the world moving by faster than I can hoof it.

Submitted for your approval, some pictures of our recent drive along the Ohio River. I recommend you take a similar excursion yourself, whenever you get get a chance.

We were just behind that church last Saturday on our bikes, its cool to look at and try to imagine what the flood waters looked like at the various levels.
Where is the cable bridge?

The bridge is down near Aberdeen. The high water mark is actually down at this old lock building in Chilo

We took 52 all the way down to Aberdeen, then crossed the river and came back up rt 8 through Kentucky.

You know, now that I look at it, its not the back of the church at all. Close.
We'll have to make the drive sometime.

I like to take the ferry to Augusta and have dinner at the Beehive Tavern. Always a chance to run into the Clooney family sitting on their front porch if you stroll along the riverfront.

But my favorite are trips are to Maysville to visit the historic district library and amazing old town architecture. Buildings are much like Charleston S.C. I wonder if the old Golden Gate replica bridge closed in Aberdeen?
